FAQ
What makes Forchewn different from regular instant coffee?
Forchewn starts with specialty-grade beans from award-winning farms, then freeze-dries them to preserve the flavor. Our goal is to taste like freshly brewed pourovers from high-end cafes. Most instant coffee is made from low-grade robusta beans, spray-dried and stripped of everything that makes coffee worth drinking.
Is this actually specialty-grade?
Yes. Specialty-grade means the beans scored 80+ on the SCA scale. For us, we've put ourselves at a higher standard at 86+. We source directly from farms that have earned that designation. You'll taste the difference.
Where does the coffee come from?
We work with high-quality farms known for exceptional growing conditions: high altitude, careful processing, traceable sourcing. Each coffee tells you where it's from.
What's in it?
Coffee. That's it. No preservatives, no additives, no sugar. Just specialty-grade instant in a single-serve packet.
How does it taste compared to brewed coffee?
Close. Closer than you'd expect. From our blind taste test, people couldn't tell the difference. Freeze-drying locks in the aromatic compounds at peak freshness that make specialty coffee worth drinking. It won't taste like your drip machine. It might taste better.
Can I drink it cold?
Yes. Dissolves in hot or cold water. No blender, no cold brew kit, no waiting overnight.
Why only 10 calories?
Because there's nothing added. There are some carbohydrates in coffee naturally which contributes to 10 calories.
What's the shelf life? How should I store it?
Refer to the expiry date on our box. Typically it will last between 1 to 1.5 years. Store it at room temperature.
